Vibespann is both a feeling and a framework.
The name is a fusion of the core elements of our practice, "vibe" or "vibration" and "span" or "expansion."
Vibespann Wellness creates restorative and culturally rooted wellness experiences that nurture self-awareness, community connection, and sustainable well-being. We support people of all ages and backgrounds in tending to their inner lives through sound healing, meditation, and sacred space-making. Our work is guided by the rhythms of nature- literally and figuratively.
Vibespann is deeply inspired by artists, activists and healers who honor the wisdom of the body, Spirit and earth. You may notice influences from Octavia Butler, Alice Coltrane, Thich Naht Hahn, Tracee Stanley, Shabaka, Kamasi Washington, Octavia Raheem, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, and Lama Rod Owens throughout their work.
Vibespann Wellness is New Jersey based and provides in person services throughout the New York tri-state region. Domestic and international travel can be arranged and virtual offerings are also available.
Meet the Founder/Sound Artist
Sonya Spann (she/her) is the founder/ lead sound artist at Vibespann Wellness.
She works with frequencies, resonance, and presence to help people connect to and expand their awareness and conscious engagement with each other.
Drawing on a background in education, tech operations and hospitality, as wellness entrepreneur, sound practitioner and meditation facilitator, Sonya weaves together soundscapes and sensory-based rest practices that invite people into deeper states of relaxation and collective care. Believing wellness tools should be accessible to all, Sonya has had the honor of offering sound experiences to a diverse range of communities, including educators, frontline workers, caregivers, youth navigating systemic barriers, and creatives seeking connection and restoration. Many she serves are leaders or caretakers, often carrying the weight of others while seeking space to reconnect with themselves.
Sonya has been a sound therapy practitioner since 2018. She holds both the privilege and the responsibility to ensure that she is growing in her personal practice as well as in her services.
Below is a living, breathing list of her ongoing training- a reflection of her commitment to integrity, curiosity and care in this work.
